Welcome to TheBearProject!
We are a local gay community group where size matters. Our events aim to create a friendly environment where bears, cubs, “G-men” and other stocky and big-sized men – as well as the guys who love them – can hang out, exchange ideas and ming

We have shifted to facebook which makes things easier for us logistically. Please look for us at TheBearProject@Facebook

Shout-Outs!

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.

Back to Nature: Bears Go Cycling (19th Aug 07, Sun)

VitalAuto & I want to thank all who came for this event, especially those who arrived early, stood by and waited for the late-comers! I must say our logistics skills are not that great so do pardon us for the little mishaps and confusions.

I want to express our thanks to Sg_pup & his hubby for their relentless efforts for leading us the way around Ubin and other logistics stuff. If not for them, this trip would not have taken place.

Our thanks also goes out to SaltWetFish & Quest for helping us take some wonderful group pictures along the way. Also thanks to those who gave and showed support to VitalAuto for his cycling difficulties... *heheh*

Last but not least, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did for this is the 1st time I ever been to Ubin! *Swah-Ku right?* I will upload the pictures onto Flickr soon!

Once again thank you all!

yours sincerely,
asimov_22
& VitalAuto

Time to get our ass back to nature! A great suggestion from sg_pup that we should go for a Pulau Ubin Cycling Trip. He has also graciously agreed to be our guide on the trip.

Date: 19 August 07, Sunday
Time: 8:30am
Meet-up Venue: POSBank ATM beside the food center

Aiyoh Vitalauto. Don't call me the tour guide as I don't think I can handle a group of bears. Ha ha.

Hello Hardcore. I'm sure you will enjoy the fresh air and see what Singapore in the 1970s is like. Problem is, gotta get up early on a Sunday morning. Heh.

Tentatively include Will pls. He probably will be going. I'm not sure about his work schedule for that day so can't confirm 100%. Will try to confirm asap. =]

Woweee! This is encouraging. I was expecting 5-6 people but it turns out bears don't always hide in their caves afterall. They do get out at times for some sun too! Woof!

VitalAuto said...

can someone confirm if it's difficult to ride the bike for two if i can't cycle?!! a little concerned leh... since i can't cycle at all :p

Asimov_22 said...

Wahahaha VA can't cycle??? Actually its tougher to ride the double one... the front rider has to be good cyclist and strong... I know cos I always hitch on the double-cycle when I was young (& still over-weight)...

Somemore Ubin should be quite a rough terrain so it will make it even tougher I suppose?

Anonymous said...

Asimov, don't be so mean la. Laugh at people. :-)

Vitalauto, for most part of the journey it will be quite smooth (normal roads) but the journey to Chek Jawa will be a little challenging. We can either take a hike there or hop onto the mini vans there. They will drive us to and fro but I don't think it is that cheap.

Alternatively, we can hike to Chek Jawa and back to Ubin town where we can rent bikes to explore the other part of Ubin that are easily accessible.

VA if u r still keen to learn how to cycle, i dont mind teaching u at east coast park.
can do a "crash course"....hehe
b4 ubin trip.

Vitalauto, You're not the only one.... I can't cycle too :( Too scared to learn. With my kind of balance and luck, I'll be the first one in the world to fall off a bicycle and die while learning how to ride a bicycle...

TheBearProject said...

Mi@w, its not that difficult really... with my size and weight(last time when I was young) it took me a day to learn! Cos in the end, u just need some confidence and a sense of balance loh...

Anonymous said...

Thanks asimov, i think I'm also lacking in the confidence department....

Balenciaga said...

Hmmm.... I'm still 2 minded about it...

Should i go???

The adventurer in me says yes... But the lazy side wants me to lay in bed and sleep the day away...

Not to mention i'll probably be moving house...

i just hope dun have any problem on the trip, and dun want have any police turn up to ask. Hope u all undertand what i mean

TheBearProject said...

Quest,

If we split the group into 2, will YOU be fully responsible of taking care of one of the groups? Me & VA are already having doubts about handling so many people, we would not want more problems. Think about it.
