Invitation to Otto Fong's book launch @ Singapore Toy & Comic Convention, 27th - 29th June 2008

I am not sure whether you guys know about this event that is happening on the 28th June 08 - Singapore's 1st Singapore Toy & Comic Convention! So avid comic-readers, PC/Console gamers (especially Final Fantasy fanatics and those classic RPGs addicts) or even toy collectors should all participate and gear up for this unique event!

Our dear friend Otto Fong, will be having his 1st ever Book Launch at this event too! So please everyone should go on down to Suntec to lend him your support!

Here's a video Otto put it up on his blog about his book launch:

Below are the details:

Date: 28th & 29th June 08
Opening Time: 11am - 9pm
Venue: Suntec Convention Hall 603

Otto's booth is at F01 (Miel & Otto Fong) and looking through the exhibitors list I must say... there are many other exciting exhibitors that will be there! I decided not to make this event a planned one because I thought it will be more flexibility for everyone to go there OTOTOP (own time, own target, own pace). Oh and please note that the 27th date is closed to public.

Fridae.com News: Movie fundraiser raises $10,000 for Singapore’s Pride Season in August

Excerpt from Fridae.com:

June 19, 2008

Singapore’s 4th annual Pride Season is here again with talks and forums, art and literature, as well as social and outdoor events.

A movie fundraiser and Singapore premiere of the film Wilde, which was held on May 13, had raised S$10,000 for Indignation, the city-state's annual Pride Season.

The film depicted the life story of playwright and poet Oscar Wilde who is today widely celebrated as an artist persecuted for his homosexuality. He was found guilty of "gross indecency” and sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour in 1895. Singapore's Section 377A, which continues to outlaw sexual relations between men up to this day, is descended from this law.

The $10,000 will be used to help fund selected events held during the festival to be held in August as all Indignation events are open to the public and are usually free of charge (unless otherwise stated), in order to be accessible to everyone.

(Top of page: Almost 500 people attended the fundraiser and Singapore premiere of Wilde which was banned by the Singapore Board of Film censors when it was first released in 1997.)

Note time and location has been changed!
lovingly, Vitalauto

This is more than relevant so don't push it away just becos its an animation flick ok... its not just that, its a BEAR animation film hahaha... :P Simply love the panda!

From IMDB.com:

"It's the story about a lazy, irreverent slacker panda, named Po, who is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around...which doesn't exactly come in handy while working every day in his family's noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po's dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five -- Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey -- under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it's up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart - and his girth - into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths." - Written by Anthony Pereyra {hypersonic91@yahoo.com}

(Closed) Sex & The City Movie, 6th June Friday

I apologize for the tardiness in the updates cos things have been pretty crazy for me. Anyways please note the timing and location have changed due to the very bad seats at Vivo and other places plus I have to work late so I pushed the time to 9pm :(

Anyways, tickets are confirmed & booked! Please meet me at 8:50pm at the ticketing area to collect your tickets. Thanks...

How can I ever miss this fabulous movie??? But the bad news is that due to my other commitments and VitalAuto's hectic schedules, I have no choice but to put this movie up until next weekend instead of this opening weekend... A thousand apologies! So far by checking the cinemas I don't think we can secure good seats in time. If by then you guys have already seen it and would like to watch it again, can join us!

Date: 6th June, Friday
Time: 9pm
Venue: GV Plaza Singapura

I'll update the details as the week draws closer. I'm not sure about the response... but I'm looking at a minimal of 8 people and a maximum of 20. Anything below 8, I guess I'll cancel it...?

Pls RSVP by commenting below... Thanks!
