Welcome to TheBearProject!
We are a local gay community group where size matters. Our events aim to create a friendly environment where bears, cubs, “G-men” and other stocky and big-sized men – as well as the guys who love them – can hang out, exchange ideas and ming
le.

We have shifted to facebook which makes things easier for us logistically. Please look for us at TheBearProject@Facebook

Shout-Outs!

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.

(Closed) To the Zoo! To the Zoo!!! - 22nd Nov 09, Sunday

A note from Ngarte (Project manager for November):

I am sure it has been a while since you last went to the zoo so here's a good chance for all the animal loving bears to gather and have fun. We can proceed to have lunch at KFC and ice-cream at Ben and Jerrys! Flavour of the month is "Chubby Hubby"!

Date: 22nd Nov, Sunday
Meeting Venue: Singapore Zoo's entrance
Time: 9am - 2pm
Ticket Price: $18

A good opportunity to come down on a Sunday to relax and enjoy our very own local zoo with our fellow bears & friends, and at the same time why not re-educate ourselves? RSVP closes on the 20th Nov, Friday 5pm.

Here are some interesting facts about our zoo:

Opened in:
27 June 1973

Officiated by:
Dr Goh Keng Swee

Total Land Area:
28 hectares

Initial Capital:
$9 million (Government grant)

Design Concept:
Set in a rainforest environment, Singapore Zoo’s world famous ‘open concept’ offers the opportunity to experience and be inspired by the wonders of nature. Animals here live in spacious and landscaped environments simulating that of their natural habitat.

Singapore Zoo is taking this further by evolving into an Open, Learning Zoo. Instead of just observing the animals, educational content designed in an interactive mode is a feature of all exhibits. These interpretives aim to effectively convey facts about the animals and messages about wildlife conservation.

Number of animal species:
315, 16% of which are threatened species

Total number of specimens:
2530
